The layout is good, nothing is missing, and the location is excellent. It's in one of the most beautiful villages in France.

The apartment was kept up fairly well, but some parts hadn't been cleaned properly. I never met the host, and the person taking care of things instead wasn't especially pleasant. I wouldn't suggest staying more than one night unless you're willing to pay toward basic supplies and do some of the cleaning you're already paying for. And if the host gives you an extra toilet roll, make sure to thank them, apparently they get very unhappy if you don't mention it.

We normally leave positive reviews because we like supporting local artisans and restaurants, so this was disappointing. We went into the shop hoping to buy something, but were told, “This isn’t a museum.” When our son carefully pointed at an item to look at before buying it, we heard, “This isn’t a toy shop; for that, there’s the Little Prince Park.” We went there instead, got a much warmer welcome, and spent our souvenir money at another shop in Eguisheim. It’s a shame, as we would have bought something here.

If you still decide to stop in, apparently you need to call out a greeting or you’ll be told off, and you’d better not touch anything, even if you’re interested in buying it. The owner came across as unpleasant and, to my mind, as friendly as a prison guard. She also seemed deaf, since you have to shout to get her attention. At least she saved us some money 😂. If dealing with customers has become unbearable, maybe a different job would suit you better. Prisons are looking for reception staff.
