Auberge d'Anais

We left without eating and won't return. We had booked for 8pm, but no table was ready; they started setting one up in the entrance foyer by the toilets. When we asked to sit in the restaurant, the manager said the empty tables were reserved, and her rudeness made us feel completely unwelcome, as if we should apologize for showing up. The waitress who greeted us wasn't friendly either and couldn't manage a smile. We called our favorite place, “Le Laurier’ in Faucon. They were busy but found us a lovely table and rescued the evening.

The restaurant has a fantastic view, and the meal we chose was really nice. We were dining as vegetarians, though, and the choices were very limited, just salads as far as we could tell.

The setting is beautiful, and the waiters and waitresses were friendly. But the welcome wasn't nice and the boss wasn't pleasant. With the set menu, everything from the starter through the main course comes on the same plate; at least dessert arrives at the end. I don't think I'll go back.

We ate outside and had a splendid view across the hills. The food was fantastic, and the prices were reasonable. We'll definitely come again on our next holiday!
