Camping le P'Tit Bonheur

There are lots of interesting places nearby, and you can pet the horses and dogs at the campsite. It was a pretty good stay, though the pool was cold and there were loads of bugs, especially mosquitoes.

The manager was lovely, and I really liked that the chalets are made of wood rather than plastic, even if they're beginning to look a little worn. Black squirrels wander around and are quite tame, so watch out for them! The setting is full of lush nature with mountains to admire, and there are excellent hikes and hot springs throughout the Tet Valley. A wonderful spot if you love being outdoors.

The place was dirty, smelled bad, and had leaks everywhere. We booked the best accommodation, but the door had no lock, and you could see outside through the gap along its side. It was 5°C, and the only heater was a small radiator we had to pay extra for. This is not suitable for winter. In summer, maybe only for people who are very comfortable with rough, natural conditions. I think the place should be closed. We arrived already worried. Reception was awful, cluttered and dirty. They offer food, but I don't know what health inspections they have, because surely an inspection would shut the place down. We were a family, two adults and four children aged 18, 13, 5, and 1. We spent five minutes inside while trying to find somewhere else. The kids were freezing, even though we arrived around midday. I can't imagine what would have happened if we'd spent the night. We explained all our complaints. The man said he understood, but didn't refund us and told us to speak to Booking. The 'secret' is that he has to reach an agreement with the app, and he doesn't want to give the money back. Lots of people have left, and the man keeps their money, so he must make a fortune without having guests. I don't think platforms like Booking should keep offering this kind of accommodation. In this small village, everyone we met already knew how awful the place was when we told them where we'd come from, and they helped us a lot. We also heard that caravans sometimes can't get out, mainly because of the snow. The campsite has steep ramps and is really not easy to access. The town council gets a lot of complaints about the place, including from customers who are lucky enough to get through to them. There's a small hostel, and it saved us. The mayor and Judith were like angels from heaven, because finding somewhere to stay in late December is awful. We paid €350 for three nights. Airbnb was €50 more, and crozy crozy was €500 a night 🤣🤣. That's an easy way to make money. Oh, and the Google photos are very old and misleading. I can't attach photos, or I don't know how.

The mountain scenery was stunning, and we slept in our own van under a beautiful starry sky, with no lights on the pitches. Our spot had a table and chairs, and the manager was friendly. For a quiet night surrounded by nature, it was a lovely setting. Still, I wouldn't stay a week. It's okay for one night if you can put up with the rough edges. We arrived at 10 pm and the manager, who lives there with his dog Sam, greeted us. The reception looked cluttered and poorly kept. He wrote down our contact details in a notebook, with no computer to register guests' IDs. We had our own sleeping setup, so that part was fine. A heads-up about payment would have helped. We called to ask about availability, but weren't told that cards aren't accepted. We didn't have enough cash, so we paid by PayPal and had to add €3 so he would receive the amount due. I'm not sure everything is properly declared, even though he's listed on Google. The bathroom area is in the same spot and very basic. If I understood correctly, it's also the manager's bathroom. The shower wasn't very hot and the water pressure was terrible. The squat toilets weren't very clean either, in my opinion. At night, we couldn't find the van charging point. It turned out to be in the access lane, which made no sense since there were meant to be two pitches. We tried charging again the next morning before leaving, but couldn't. We didn't ask the manager for help, and he might have been able to help us. There were many dogs off leash around the campsite, including the manager's, and they could come right up to our van. That was fine with us, but it's useful to know. There were also some lovely horses by the campsite exit, which is separate from the entrance. If you're after cleanliness and everything being perfect, don't go. The organization needs work, and the electricity didn't work; the charging point was poorly situated in relation to the pitch. But for peace, quiet, and mountain views, the natural surroundings make a great impression.
