Les Galets Bleus

We went yesterday and don't agree with most of the reviews here. We ordered la formule du jour, Moules à la Normandie avec frites et crêpes au sucre. The mussels were tasty and there were plenty of them, and the dish arrived quickly. We didn't find the terrace dirty either, perhaps the management has learnt its lesson. We did notice customers sit down, open the reviews on their phones, then leave right away. Don't do that! The carbonara looked a little small and cheesy. Bon appétit!

We picked Les Galets Bleu because it's centrally located in Etretat and wanted a quick lunch before continuing our journey. We sat on the terrace and ordered quickly, but several tables that arrived after us were served first. That was disappointing in the heat, especially since we'd ordered drinks. A woman working there, maybe the owner, was chewing with her mouth open while eating bread and gum, which put me off. When the galettes finally came, they had very little garnish and only a teaspoon or so of salad. The woman interrupted us several times and seemed confused about who had ordered what. There weren't many customers, so I can only imagine how it gets during dinner. I'd do some research before picking a restaurant in Etretat.

We ordered carbonara but got a different dish, and it was sour and disgusting. The hygiene seemed so poor that we were afraid of catching covid. I wouldn't recommend this place. Be smarter than we were and spend your money at a good restaurant.

Being right by the sea was the apartment's one good point. It lacked basic kitchen equipment, the bed was broken, and they accused us of breaking it. Definitely not worth the price.
