Hôtel Cap-Estel

The food was unbelievably good, and the presentation and flavors went beyond what I expected. The service was just as impressive, attentive and personal, with people going above and beyond. The whole property was immaculate and felt luxurious down to the details. One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in, with a flawless experience from beginning to end.

We finally stayed at Cap Estel for a couple of nights last summer. The setting is peaceful and luxurious, and the property is beautiful, with breathtaking views and an excellent location in Eze. I might well return someday. Most of the service was impeccable, and the staff made things seamless, but room service fell short. We asked several times for water or cold drinks to be brought up, and nothing arrived. It was scorching, with temperatures in the high 20s every day, so guests should at least be kept comfortable and hydrated. For a high-end hotel with such a hefty price, we expected flawless service in every area. Those lapses took away a little from the experience we’d expected.

The website is awful. I tried dates over the next few months, and every choice showed no availability. Most hotel booking calendars show which nights are full, so customers don’t waste time guessing. If the hotel is actually closed, why not say so? It’s bizarre and unwelcoming, and it really doesn’t feel five-star.

The atmosphere, quality, service, and location were all superb. A perfect place for a honeymoon, a break with your partner, or just time away from the daily grind.
