The Commandery is a beautiful building, and Jean-Paul and Isabelle are very welcoming. Breakfast is served in the shade of a lovely tree-lined courtyard, and they support organic food. We rented the upstairs Chemin de Ronde room. It's spacious and beautifully decorated, but in summer it gets extremely hot despite the thick walls. The ceiling seems poorly insulated, so it was very hard to rest. The windows can't really be opened because the road nearby is busy and noisy. A shame, especially given the excellent value for money.

Isabelle and Jean-Paul are charming, knowledgeable hosts, and breakfast is a treat, with homemade fig, apricot and plum jams, crumble and bread. We stayed in the superb loft-style room, "The Cat's Legacy," with its four-poster bed and walk-in shower. The centuries-old stone walls keep it cool, and there's an adjoining kitchen for private meals. You might even end up chatting in English with a young Moldovan couple traveling through this legendary southern region. A castle you'll fall for and want to return to. See you soon ;) Gaël
