Capsule Valenciennes

We left as soon as we saw the accommodation. Mold was everywhere, curtains covered the walls, and the shower was in a deplorable state. The photos online are misleading, and the town hall should inspect the place for health concerns. We’d come for a romantic getaway, but the conditions made that impossible. I’ve been chasing a refund of 200 euros for two years and have followed up 15 times without getting anything back. Since we left and the accommodation was immediately rented out again, there was no loss in reality. A complete and utter scam.

We couldn’t even get to the room. It was meant to be through the kitchen and out to the backyard, but the door was locked, so I can’t say anything about the room itself. The building looked nothing like the online photos, was completely run-down, and smelled strongly of stale smoke. No one could be reached, which made staying overnight impossible. Definitely not recommended.

You can hear everything because there’s no soundproofing, and it stays noisy all night. The top-floor rooms are being used as a brothel, with lots of shady guys, sometimes four with one girl. It was the worst night of my life. I don’t recommend this place, and I think the manager is closely involved in all of it.

I didn’t stay the night because the apartment was so disgusting, and the establishment refused to refund me. The whole place had a nauseating smell that seeped into the private room. The bathroom made me feel sick as soon as I opened the door. The room itself was filthy, with dust bunnies under the bed and on the decorations. The kitchenette and dishes were dirty, the countertop was sticky, and there was no dish soap. With no trash can in the room, the gutters were being used as garbage cans. Avoid this place at all costs.
