Le Grand Hotel

It's got a cute, yesteryear feel, and that adds to its charm. There are enough modern touches to make the stay pleasant.

Marilyn was wonderful, and our room was clean. The hotel is right in town.

The staff were friendly and the rooms were clean. It's right in the middle of Forcalquier, with free private parking at the back of the hotel. Shame there are no tea or coffee facilities, but I'd recommend it for the convenience.

The room, number 16, was clean and the bedding quite adequate. The hotel is old-fashioned and verging on outdated, though its location in the heart of the city is good. Although it overlooks the street, the soundproofing blocked the traffic and even the church bell, which rings every hour and half-hour, twice each time, including at night. But the insulation comes with a serious ventilation problem: condensation dripped off the windows and formed a small puddle in the middle of the room. The bathroom and toilet had no proper ventilation or door either, just a sliding partition that did little to block noise, humidity, or anything else.
