A great spot for booking with a group. Jarnac is quiet, but pleasant to walk around, and Cognac is about a 20-minute drive away if you want to take the Hennessy tour. We loved the beautiful feel of Château de Brillac, from the rooms to the grounds, and Dominique was so kind and made sure our stay went as well as possible. Breakfast was delicious each morning. I’d definitely recommend taking the bikes out for a ride.
The setting is idyllic, but the service didn’t live up to the promised luxury. There was no outdoor lighting at the château or cottages, and the soundproofing was awful. On top of the €8,200 site rental, we were charged extra for things like outdoor lights, chairs and tables. The staff were intrusive and demanding, and the neighbors couldn’t tolerate the noise. The police ended the evening, and we were fined for disturbing the peace.
I’m 650 meters away and can hear the music. Please turn the equipment down to the legal limit and respect the neighbors during events. You don’t reply to messages, so I’ll keep filing complaints if I have to. You said you provide jobs for people, and you’ll be giving the police work too if the volume doesn’t change. Thanks.
Absolutely fantastic place, with a magnificent castle, lovely grounds, and a superb swimming pool. 🤩🤩
