Campanile Rouen Est - Franqueville Saint Pierre

A quiet spot at a good price, with secure parking and comfortable beds that aren't too firm. The bathroom is clean and well equipped, though it could use a makeover. Nothing major to complain about.

The worst part of our two-night visit, while we were seeing family in a nearby town, was being locked out of both rooms after midnight on the second night. We had booked two rooms for two adults and two young children. The kids had fallen asleep, so we lifted them quietly, but when we got back we couldn't get into either room. They woke up and started crying, and we had to take them back to the car while we worked out what to do. Eventually we found someone who could unlock the doors. No one seemed to care afterward, not the person who helped us, the receptionist the next day, or head office when I contacted them. Other guests were locked out that night too. There were other problems as well, but this was by far the worst thing that's ever happened to me at any accommodation.

It was warm and comfortable for an overnight stop, and finding the place and parking were easy. Reception was quick and straightforward. The restaurant was closed, though, the shower was cold, and the air conditioning made a lot of noise.

Close to Rouen, so handy if you're planning to visit the city, and there's plenty of parking inside the grounds. The room has what you need, nothing extra. Staff were good and spoke English. Just remember reception is open from 6 am to 11 pm. Outside those hours, you need to call the number on the reception door to check in or out.
