Hôtel du Rivage

Never again. The reception was closed from 14:00 to 16:00, and when I arrived at 2:30 PM I wasn’t sure where I’d seen that information before. I came in at 15:50 and was told there was still a real for 10 Minutes. The listing said the receptionist spoke English, but he didn’t. The room carpet was really ugly, grey, blue, and pink, with what I assume were cleaning-agent stains and burn marks. Checkout took 20 minutes because I needed my company address on the invoice. The staff couldn’t use the system to change it, and after all that I still got an invoice with the wrong address. I had to leave for my plane and couldn’t spend any more time on it.

I’ll be back. It’s a lovely hotel in a quiet spot overlooking the river, with private parking. I gave it five stars because it’s a great three-star hotel. Someone had complained earlier about the breakfast cost, but I thought it was well worth it: freshly squeezed orange juice, cold meats, cheese, eggs, bread, croissants, homemade apple stew, and yogurt.

It was a good experience overall. The hotel feels a little budget, and I think the price is slightly high for that, but there’s staff available around the clock and the breakfast was good with plenty of options.

The rooms are a little dated, but the staff are friendly and breakfast is good. It was a good stay overall. Nice to see charging points for electric cars, both CCS and Tesla.
