Domaine de Salente

Great service, lovely nature, and wine. What a fantastic place!

The view of the vineyards and pool is breathtaking, even though the time of year and temperatures meant we couldn't use the pool or outdoor areas. We had two wonderful nights at Domaine de Salente, a peaceful, relaxing place, and the owner gave us a very warm welcome. Breakfast was plentiful and varied, and everything tasted delicious. The little kitchenette with its fridge and microwave was a nice extra. Thanks again for being so kind and hospitable. Best wishes.

Bénédicte gave us a lovely welcome and was attentive without being intrusive. She clearly has an eye for beautiful things, and the house is just as lovely inside as it is outside. We loved the quiet in our room and the magnificent view across the vineyards, with the infinity pool facing the vines. Bénédicte was welcoming and helpful, and even offered plates of vegetables from her garden. With only four rooms, Domaine de Salente feels peaceful and calm. Its elegant, simple decor brings out the natural charm of the old building, which used to be a sheepfold. We stayed five days in August 2020 and had a wonderful time in this little haven. The village of Gignac itself isn't especially interesting, though the house sits out in the countryside. The motorway is nearby, and traffic can sometimes be heard faintly in the distance. We're usually very sensitive to that, but it didn't bother us. We'd come back for a few days to recharge near Gignac.
