Our room was number 2, right at the front of the house. It was a good size, with a nice bathroom. There’s no air conditioning, but plenty of windows, and it was quiet. The location sits between Monet’s tomb and his house and gardens.

Monet’s garden was beautiful even in October. The accommodation was comfortable, and the proprietor was friendly and helpful. We had to cancel late during the summer, but they kindly offered us these dates instead. If you’re traveling without a car, make sure you plan how you’ll get around.

Getting up early meant we could beat the crowds at Monet’s garden, and the B&B is ideally placed for visiting Giverny. We loved our stay: the rooms were quiet and very clean, the beds comfortable, and breakfast delicious. They welcomed us with our three-year-old, and now we’re heading back with two kids.

The hosts spoke both English and French fluently, and the rooms were lovely, with high ceilings and thoughtful art touches. Everything was immaculately clean. Breakfast was very reasonable at 7.5 euros. We’ll be back!

We stayed the night and visited Monet’s house the next morning, before the crowds arrived. The light was better for taking photos then, too. The place has a lovely atmosphere and is quiet, close to all things Monet. Just plan your arrival and departure, as it’s a long walk from Vernon.
