There’s no air conditioning, which usually isn’t an issue, but a hot day can make the room feel stuffy. Noise can be a problem too: planes take off right overhead because the airport is nearby, and freight trains rumble past at night if your room faces the tracks. Still, the location is handy, right across from the train station with a Lidl next door. The family room was comfortable, and the balcony was a nice extra. There’s both garage and outdoor parking, and the staff were friendly enough.

There are even roosters around the property! Inside, there’s artwork throughout and a grand piano in the dining area, both nice touches. The hotel is small but pleasant, with clean rooms, nice views, and friendly staff. Breakfast is continental and served daily, though there isn’t much variety. Toiletries are pretty limited too, basically just toilet paper and bath soap.

For the price, the rooms are easily the best around, and I’ve tried them all. It’s quiet and clean, with a warm welcome and good service. Plenty of parking for a Luton van, too. Breakfast is the one small letdown, just coffee and croissants.

The room was fresh and clean, with really comfortable beds, TV, internet, a good-sized triangle shower, and our own balcony. Breakfast was also great value, with everything I could think of. We hadn’t planned to visit Paris, but went anyway, just as Fashion week began and everything was booked. Luckily, we found Saglam Hotel. We’ve never felt so welcome anywhere. Lionel was incredibly kind and made sure we were comfortable. Catalina, another lovely receptionist at Saglam Hotel, wrote out places to see in Paris, with local tips and clear directions. On our departure day, our taxi was late, so the owner offered to drive us and all our luggage to Charles de Gaule Airport (Roissy) himself to make sure we caught our flight. The crew were the kindest and most dedicated to their guests we’ve ever met. It’s about 20 minutes from Roissy Airport and around 35 minutes from Gare du Nord in Paris on RER B, with the station just a four-minute walk away. I’d recommend Saglam Hôtel without hesitation!

After the taxi mess, I’d happily have paid the extra to stay at the airport hotel. It was only 200 euros, and not much more once the shuttle situation was factored in. Two stars feels generous. I booked this place for a quick airport overnight specifically because it advertised a shuttle. When I called ahead, the guy didn’t know what I meant and offered to send a car for 25 euros. I was annoyed but agreed. The pickup was fine, and I arranged the same ride back with the front desk for the next morning, again for 25 euros. My flight was delayed, so I needed to change the pickup time. The new girl kept saying she’d call a taxi, and I thought we were just using different words for the same thing, so I didn’t check again. Turns out there’s no shuttle, just a taxi they call and hope costs no more than 25 euros. The guy at checkout tried to make me feel bad, saying he was paying 10 euros himself so my fare would only be 25. Don’t quote 25 if it’s really 35. At the airport, the driver refused my card and charged me over 40 euros. I told him the hotel had already paid, but he wouldn’t accept that. The hotel guy did offer a small refund when I texted him, but the way they handled it was what made the whole thing so bad. They don’t seem to know what they’re doing yet. Getting to the hotel was a bit scary too. The road wasn’t finished, and we turned onto an unlit path. The hotel itself is nice enough and new, but the room had no information about calling the desk or where to find food. It’s a typical budget setup, and breakfast definitely isn’t worth the 10 euros.
