I loved how close the hotel was to a beautiful park full of flowers and animals, and the room was clean, good, and had a heater. The breakfast situation, though, left me upset and hungry before my train. I’d paid 15 euros, but arrived five minutes after the strict 9:30 cutoff because of a morning business call. They wouldn’t serve me or offer another option, and I had to beg for a croissant and coffee.

We’re on day 21 of our trip around France and have stayed in plenty of hotels with breakfasts that ranged from good to excellent. This one’s breakfast really stood out: a wonderful spread of local food, including some of the best cheese and bread I’ve had, plus lovely dessert-style treats the owners made themselves. The room was lovely, roomy enough, and had a well-appointed en suite bathroom with a stunning shower. If we come back to Granville, we’d stay here again and hope the same owners are still here and thriving. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

The lady of the house was so accommodating, and breakfast was excellent for such a small price. Gorgeous rooms too. Fantastic hotel, love it.

I had pneumonia and asked in advance to cancel my booking, but the hosts wouldn’t accommodate me or be flexible. They still charged the full amount, including breakfast.
