B&B HOTEL Aix-Les-Bains

We needed a family room that could sleep four while driving from the UK to Val d'Isere for our recent ski holiday, and this hotel had just that. It's close to the mountains and was very well located for us.

The shower overflowed in our room, leaving part of the bathroom flooded, and we had to mop it up with a towel. Breakfast was disappointing for the price, too, with most of the fresher items gone before it was over. Still, the staff were very friendly, the rooms were spotless and comfortable, and the beds were great. There were rabbits on the lawns, and it stayed quiet despite being so near the road. The parking was free and tucked right in front of the hotel.

We'd stayed here before as a one-night stopover and it had been fine, but this visit was very different. After an eight-hour drive, arriving late at night, the woman on reception on the evening shift June 12 was extremely rude and unprofessional. She said she didn't understand English, but when I asked simple questions in French, including her name, she didn't respond. She didn't explain the night check-in properly or try to understand my questions. A man thankfully helped me figure out what I needed to do. At least we were only there for one night.

It's about 10 to 15 minutes from the city center, with easy access to town and a spot near the highway. The hotel was very nice, like the other B&B hotels. I wanted to explore the city but didn't have enough time.
