Hôtel ibis budget Aix-les-Bains Nord

I was only there for one night, so I'm not too picky, but it was really hot without air conditioning in the room. In 2024, how is having no air conditioning still an option? The drink machine was broken as well, so there was no way to get a fresh drink in the evening. At 70 euros for the night, it wasn't good value.

The beds were really comfy, the sheets smelled lovely, and the whole room was meticulously clean. For the price, the quality was good. We were on a road trip and needed to charge a lot of gadgets, though, and there was just one socket besides the one in the toilet, which was annoying. There isn't a hairdryer in the room, so bring your own. We checked in very late using the machine out front and skipped breakfast, so we hardly interacted with anyone.

For somewhere clean to sleep, this does the job, and the price reflects what you get. It's right off the motorway, handy for stopping to rest, but not ideal if you want to walk to Aix les Bains. Check-in was straightforward, with a machine for late arrivals. We couldn't find an elevator, so keep that in mind if mobility is an issue. Our clean room had a double bed, a bunk above it, and a chair that converted into a bed. The main bed was fairly comfortable, but the pull-out one wasn't great and I wouldn't want to use it for more than a night. The sheets smelled of cigarette smoke, and water barely drained from the shower, so it felt like showering in a full bath. There's no kettle in the room, so don't expect morning coffee.

The room was basic but acceptably clean, and the bed was comfortable. It smelled of smoke, and the walls were so thin that we could hear people moving around in nearby rooms all night. Getting in was easy with the door code, which is handy for a late arrival.
