Best Hotel Paris Sud - Grigny

We arrived around midnight after I had checked in online through the Accor application and emailed the hotel to say we'd be late. The manager had cancelled our reservation, we were told. Instead of getting some rest in Paris, I had to drive four hours home at night with my family in the car. It's been nine months, and Accor still hasn't given a sufficient response to my complaints.

The rooms and building are very old, and it looks like no investment has gone into the hotel for years. We couldn't sleep because of the smoke and smell, so we had to find somewhere else to stay. I don't understand why the smoking ban isn't taken seriously. It almost seems like the hotel benefits from the chaos by attracting smokers.

The neighborhood felt rough, though I didn't feel unsafe. This isn't a touristy area, English is basically nonexistent, and the train ride to downtown Paris takes 30-40 minutes. The train is just a two-minute walk away. The TV didn't work on either of my two stays, and some lights were out. Still, it's fine for one night, and I'd stay again for a short time.

There was no AC, and the room felt like an oven. It also smelled odd, and bugs in the sheets left the whole family itching all night with barely any sleep. Two large cockroaches were in the room, and noise from doors opening and closing in the hallway continued all night. The area felt unsafe too, with lots of litter and broken cars full of garbage. We were afraid to leave our car in the parking lot. We left a day early despite already having paid for two nights. We didn't feel safe and had a lot of bug bites. I chose this hotel because the Ibis name used to mean quality to me. Not anymore. We'll never stay here again or recommend it to anyone.
