Relais des Cîmes

Nothing fancy, but it was comfortable enough and in a nice location. I could bring my dogs into the room for a reasonable fee.

We had a very good meal at the restaurant. Our room was pleasant, on the first floor, with a great view!

The rooms are basic but have what you need, including a hair dryer. The staff are very friendly, and the restaurant serves good Creole dishes. It's right in the center of Hell Bourg, and you can arrange an early breakfast by asking the night before.

The staff were friendly, but the restaurant was below average. We tried two others, and both offered better quality and prices. At breakfast the bread was served on the table, which seemed wasteful because so much food gets left over. The hikes from town are good, but we'd suggest staying somewhere else or in Salazie and driving up the few minutes. We stayed four nights in an outbuilding room, and it might be okay for one or two nights, but we can't recommend a longer stay. There was no air conditioning, the mattress was hard as stone, and instead of a proper blanket there was a thin wool blanket, with another in the cupboard. It smelled like it was hardly ever washed, and the sheet was open, so the blanket kept slipping out during the night. There was no shower curtain, so the whole bathroom got wet. There was no Wi-Fi in the outbuilding, and the cell network was down for most of the day. We also didn't feel safe. There were many drunk, possibly homeless people on the street, making noise both day and night. They attacked some other guests and tried to touch a baby in a stroller passing by. Their dogs ran loose in the hotel garden, attacked people, and pooped everywhere. Two days into our stay, the street light between the main building and outbuilding went out. Nobody fixed it, so we had to cross the street in total darkness past the drunk people.
