A l'Ecole Buissonnière

The staff were welcoming and helpful, and breakfast was simple but delicious. This quaint hotel is right in the center, with free parking about a five-minute walk away. We had a wonderful stay.

The wooden theme and charm made our stay really pleasant, and having a private terrace was a plus. It might be less of a perk in winter when it's very cold. The hotel is cozy and near the center of Honfleur, with excellent service from lovely, accommodating staff.

The place is beautiful and the rooms are big, but the service didn't match the high price. I wouldn't recommend it for older people or anyone with a disability. I was there with my parents, both 70, on the last stop of a two-week vacation. We each had two full suitcases. They saw us arrive with all six bags, yet put us on the top floor with no elevator or help carrying them. I hurt myself hauling them. One of the girls offered to help, but only took one small bag. When we arrived, two young women were sitting in the lobby, said “bonjour,” then kept talking and eating. Nobody answered when we knocked at reception, and we couldn't find anyone else. After we wandered around for ten minutes, I asked the two women who could help us. Only then did they say, “It's us,” and come to the desk. A very bad first impression. They said the front door would be locked at night and gave us a code to get in. The code was wrong, so we waited outside for 30 minutes, hoping another guest would come along. They'd also given us an emergency phone number, but nobody picked up. When we told one of the girls, she didn't apologize and blamed another girl instead. There were three or four young women managing the place, and they did the minimum to help. Breakfast was just okay, nothing more. As a vegetarian, I didn't have much to eat.

The staff were kind and helpful, and the room was beautiful. Breakfast was great.
