The room was filthy, smelled foul, and had bedbugs. It was tiny, more like a detention cell than a hotel room.

The staff seemed lost when handling their tasks, and the rooms were extremely small. There wasn't even the basic furniture or equipment I expect in a two-star hotel: no chair, closet, desk, safe, bedside table, or bedside lamp, and the shower wasn't a decent size. The toilet door hit the bed, so you had to move it to open the door. If you left that door open, you couldn't reach the tiny window or the single shelf that had to serve as a table, desk, bedside table, and closet. The walls were paper-thin, with conversations from the street, hallway, and neighboring rooms coming through crystal clear. Basically, it was half a bed and a shelf in an egg-sized room with no decor. Parking isn't included, and there's a fee to call the hotel lobby.

They gave us a room without air conditioning, even though the booking said it had AC. The hotel said it was broken, which I can understand, but offered no solution and not even an apology. If you're visiting Hyères on a budget, stay in someone's AirBnb. At least they might give you a fan.

We visited on a hot August night. The first room they gave us had completely broken air conditioning. In the second, it only blew hot, stinky air. The staff were kind, but couldn't do anything about it.
