Pink Rainbow Hotel (TEST HOTEL)

There's a lovely lake just across the road where you can walk the dogs. The hotel is pet-friendly, even with three dogs, and the standard rooms were clean. It's a great little stop en route, and there's cheaper petrol nearby too.

We ate dinner at the hotel and really liked the food. Breakfast was an excellent buffet too. Our clean, comfortable room was basic but had everything we needed, including a hairdryer, tea and coffee facilities, and bedside lights good enough for one of us to read while the other slept. Both young women at reception were friendly, helpful, and spoke good English. We were very satisfied with our one-night stay on the way south and would certainly stay again when travelling that way.

The room was clean and functional, but the restaurant service let us down. Our food came quickly, yet the drinks we ordered at the same time didn't arrive until I went to ask. Then our dessert never came, even as people who'd arrived later were getting theirs. We eventually gave up. It felt like we'd been forgotten.

The rooms are clean, modern, and nice. Mine was at the back, facing a factory, and an old compressor kept squeaking as it stopped and started all night. I was so exhausted I slept through it until 4 a.m., then heard it every 30 minutes.
