Ellie was a huge help and knew loads about the area. Elodie was a wonderful host too, cooking several meals for our group of 15. Eleven of us stayed at Le Pujastou, which is a lovely place to stay.

We spent five nights here as two families. It’s clean, pleasant, and well placed for a cooler summer break, and the place is more or less as advertised. The internet was unreliable, though, even when we only needed a basic connection. If you need to work, don’t stay here. Breakfast was nice, but the same each day, with just one kind of fruit most mornings. The evening meal was basic food, partly homemade, and the same menu for all seven of us. We felt it was far too expensive. In hindsight, we also thought the room with breakfast was seriously overpriced. Mosquito nets on all the bedroom windows would help.

The hostess was fantastic, and we were able to leave our motorbike in their big garage. Breakfast was good, and the room was comfortable. We did miss having a TV, though that’s a minor luxury. It’s a lovely old house, creaky floors and all.

The mountains were a real treat, and we had beautiful weather for our weekend with friends. We all slept really well in the perfect rooms. The welcome was warm, dinner was great, and breakfast was spot on. Those cookies were amazing. I’d definitely recommend it.
