A comfortable bed, very clean surroundings, and a good breakfast with eggs, fresh juice, and plenty more. It's a nice base for a few days of hiking in the mountains. The village is pleasant too, with a decent restaurant, some bars, and a Sunday market.

A heads-up if noise bothers you: rooms near the staircase aren't ideal. I liked the rooms at the front on the first or second floor, at the far left or right, with a small balcony. The auberge is really friendly, in a lovely village with good walks into the hills. Spring brings wild flowers, and the food is good. The restaurant is popular with French diners, which should say something. Recommended.

The road was closed, so I couldn't reach the hotel. They wouldn't cancel and refund me. Easy money for them, and an easy one-star rating from me.

The food is simple but tasty, with a good choice at breakfast and dinner, and the hotel offers decent basic accommodation for sleeping. John Jack was a very friendly host. His son Seb offers a wonderful jeep experience in the national park, showing early carvings on rocks and explaining the area's geology. He knows a lot. Madame at the hotel seemed a little brusque at times and didn't seem keen to interact with guests.
