Hôtel AKENA TROYES - La Chapelle-Saint-Luc

The staff were some of the most accommodating I've met. Clean rooms and excellent service, ideal for an overnight stop. Recommended.

We had a really restful night in the family room, which turned out to be a suite. It was clean and well kept, and the beds were comfortable. Even with the motorway nearby, the noise was quite reasonable. For our family of four, having two bathrooms was very handy: one had a toilet and sink, the other a shower and sink. I found them quite luxurious, especially after a bad stay in another hotel rated four stars. Breakfast was nice, with a good mix of sweet and savoury food and good coffee. The staff were kind and helpful.

I had a mild stroke on the evening we arrived and spent four days in hospital. My wife doesn't drive in France, and the hotel staff were wonderful about helping us. They arranged taxis and extended the room one day at a time. We really appreciated their concern and help, thank you. The hotel is in a quiet business park near two restaurants. It has a good bar, outdoor spaces and comfortable, well-laid-out rooms.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, but the staff needed more training. They charged us twice, refunded us, then it turned out they'd refunded ten euros too much. At their request, we had to go back to the desk three times to sort it out. Mistakes happen, but the whole thing was off-putting.
