hotelF1 Orléans La Chapelle St Mesmin

Useful if you just need somewhere to sleep before moving on, but I didn’t like the style and wouldn’t want to spend time there. We arrived late and checked in at the machine by the door with a credit card. It printed an entry code and WiFi code, and we found our way to a small twin room. The toilet and shower are shared.

For 35 euros it was fine: easy to reach from the motorway, with a clean bed and a quiet room. It’s very basic, though. There’s no toilet or shower in the room, no free towels for the shower, and breakfast is just toast, cereal and coffee.

Two stars: one for the clean room and one for the clean toilet. The toilet is shared, the only one on the whole floor, and you can’t lock it. There’s no light either, and the sewage smell is terrible. After this, I’ve learned some serious survival skills.

The breakfast was a joke, and the staff couldn’t have cared less. There wasn’t even a hand towel to dry your hands with. This was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in, without exception. People say you get what you pay for, but not here. “Poor” would be a compliment. AWFUL.
