Le Belvédère de Sainte-Anne

This was the worst place I’ve stayed. As a young woman traveling by bike through Europe, I needed somewhere to shelter when a storm was forecast. I called three times to ask when I could arrive before the rain, but they couldn’t answer because they didn’t speak English. They said breakfast could be whenever I wanted, so I asked for 5:30 to eat early and carry on toward de la bonette. They said that was fine. Around 6 in the morning, an older man who barely spoke English started shouting that I had to leave at 5 and threw me out. It was dark, the forecast had changed and showed rain, and checkout was at 9. I never said I’d leave at 5. Breakfast was very poor, just a dried bread roll with marmalade and a little Nutella. Not much for a long ride. There was no Wi-Fi in the room either. I was always polite, saying thank you and merci, and I even bought extra food there. Being treated like that as a young woman was awful. Never again.
