Mercure Grande Motte Port

We stayed two nights in October 2025. The views are unusual and special, the sort you’d only get elsewhere in a BnB. We also liked the atmosphere from a DJ playing music from noon until around 3pm, though that was a bit of a noise factor during the day. After 9pm, the bars downstairs were quiet. The central air conditioning would turn on but didn’t work at all. Luckily, it was autumn, so we managed with the balcony door open. We skipped breakfast and walked to a nearby boulangerie.

The whole place has a calm, professional feel, and the staff were consistently polite. Our room was clean and comfortable for a short or longer stay, with a pleasing view. Being welcomed by the valet set the tone for a relaxed visit. Even the drive into La Grande-Motte gives you a sense of what staying at Hôtel Mercure will be like. The futuristic architecture is inspiring, and it’s a great place to properly unwind.

The bed was very comfortable, and reception staff were helpful and accommodating, which made check-in and the stay easier. The bar service was a letdown, with staff who weren’t helpful. The hotel has a rather dull, typical business atmosphere, so it feels more suited to business travelers, though there’s room to improve the service.

The rooms have a lovely view, and the restaurant is quite good. The location is convenient, though the place is beginning to show its age.
