We enjoyed watching the steak cook over the open fire in the dining room. The little restaurant serves good food, with attentive service. The menu of the day was a good deal at 12.50, and the kids' menu was 7 euro.

We had the restaurant's 12.50 Euro menu, which included a fresh fish plate with rougert barbet and maquereau, good fries, decent rice, a great feuilleté starter, and an awesome lemon meringue pie. The travellers' hostel room was noisy. It had a shower and sink but no toilet, which was shared on the floor and often left dirty. The walls are paper thin. Other guests seemed to turn in around midnight and be up at 6am, like the streetcars rushing past.

The owner was very friendly, and it was nice to see the meat cooked in the fireplace. Shame the meat itself wasn't very nice.

We stopped in on a whim and were glad we did. The food was really nice.
