Hôtel & Spa des Gorges du Verdon

The views are spectacular from the rooms, and even better from the breakfast area, with its big windows and terrace. I liked the modern, pleasant design, plus the outdoor table tennis and basketball. Dinner was very good in a nice atmosphere, and the charging stations in the parking lot were a welcome extra. There are some real drawbacks too. For a four-star hotel, the breakfast buffet felt weak, with few hearty choices. The machine coffee was barely enjoyable for a coffee lover, and a simple filter option would help. Our room was extremely small, so even opening a suitcase was difficult. The bathroom was open to the room, more like a city hotel layout. Cleanliness was okay but not perfect, as we spotted clumps of hair on the bathroom floor straight away. The gym has very little beyond cardio equipment. The service also felt cold across different staff members, and we didn't really feel welcomed. It's still a nice hotel with fantastic views and some great touches. With limited alternatives in this mountain region, I'd recommend it, though a warmer reception from the team would go a long way.

The service was truly excellent, the restaurant food was delicious, and parking was included with plenty of spaces on site. The location is stunning, and the large windows gave us breathtaking mountain views. The hotel is a bit dated and worn, but it didn't bother us: everything was clean, worked properly, and the room had all we needed.

A gem of a hotel and restaurant. The valley and mountain views are amazing, and there's a pool, jacuzzi, sauna and spa. The bar is great, and there's even a gift shop selling local food. Rooms are functional, spacious, quiet and very comfortable, with all the amenities. The restaurant serves excellent food, at very affordable prices. It could well get a Michelin star one day. Service is extremely professional and attentive. Every time I stay, it's just for one night, and I regret not spending longer.

This hotel feels like an oasis. I'm here for my fourth stay, drawn by the beautiful hotel, pool and surrounding area. The staff are lovely and welcoming. They even recognized me at check-in and gave me a complimentary upgrade. The restaurant is an incredible culinary experience too. We look forward to coming back every year!
