The hosts were wonderful and answered all our questions, and we felt at home in the cozy rooms right away. This place is just lovely. If dinner is available, go for it: the food is delicious and made with local ingredients.

A great base for hikes up Piton de la Fournaise. The dinners with the other guests are nicely organized, and it’s an excellent place to stay.

Laurie made us a packed breakfast for our late-night start on the Piton de la Fournaise hike, and it was just right. The room was spacious, comfortable, and nicely decorated. We stayed for two nights and were welcomed warmly. Breakfast and dinner were both very good. There was a small problem on the first night, but Laurie sorted out a solution so we could eat somewhere else. We had a lovely stay and highly recommend it.

This was my second or third time at Côté Volcan, and it was just as good again. The guesthouse is very handy for reaching the volcano hiking trails, especially if you want an early start. My spacious, comfortable room had a view of Piton des Neiges 🤩. There’s a welcoming shared kitchen and lounges where you can relax. Breakfast was fantastic, with fresh fruit and especially the homemade jams. Thanks again for a wonderful stay!

The host kindly put together a lovely breakfast for us to take along when we left early for a hike. We were welcomed warmly, and had a spacious, clean room and bathroom with excellent bedding. Highly recommended.
