The location and the room’s kitchenette were the only real positives. We stayed three days and paid over 230 Euro, yet after the second day we couldn’t get the room cleaned or even get a fresh towel without paying another 20 Euro. By the end, the toilet paper, shower gel, and soap had all run out. The corridors and our room had filthy carpets that need replacing. The bathroom was old and mouldy, with black spots on the shower tiles. Parking costs extra every night. There’s no terrace or garden, despite the claim, just a small room. This was the most disgusting hotel I’ve stayed in France so far, and it has an extensive set of intrusive rules. They reserve 250 Euro on your card and inspect your passport and payment card. What are they trying to protect, a dilapidated building and mouldy carpets? What a joke.

We didn’t have time to explore the area, though the harbour is only a 10-minute walk away. The welcoming staff were first class, and the shower room was very good. The apartment was spacious enough to have a little dining area with a table and two chairs. It was also great having a microwave, cooker top, kettle, fridge, cutlery, plates, and bowls. For the price, it was extremely good value and more practical and well equipped than many three- and four-star rooms. I’d highly recommend it.

I loved my five-day stay. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed, and the staff were some of the friendliest and most helpful I’ve met. That made the stay much more pleasant. It’s in a great spot, near nice walking routes and the city centre. I’d highly recommend staying here.

Friendly, helpful service, good laundry, and breakfast helped make up for the average room. The hotel is a good place to stay in La Rochelle, around 10-15 minutes on foot from the city centre, with plenty of parking available. The room could use some improvements: the carpet has a bad smell and should be removed, and air conditioning should be added.
