The hosts greeted us right away with ice cream, then sat and chatted with us for a while. The rooms were great, better than your average hotel room, and the outdoor pool was just perfect. A great overnight stay for travelers! :)

It's an easy five-minute walk to the fascinating town, with its historic character and lively modern feel. There's a market for local produce as well as quality restaurants, bars, and cafés, so it really is worth a visit. Booking direct gets you a better deal, simple as that! The rooms are light and spacious, with thoughtful, individual decor, and we were very impressed. The place feels relaxed and interesting, indoors and out, and you feel welcomed into Ian and Anthony's home. They make the rooms and surroundings feel both inviting and luxurious, and there's a real connection with them and what they offer. Although it's a Chambre D’hote, they let guests use the kitchen to cook lunch or dinner if they want. On the evening we arrived, other guests were cooking for themselves and invited us to join them. What a treat! You can also relax by the garden pool or on the terrace surrounded by lush greenery. Brilliant!

Anthony and Ian made us feel so welcome, and deserve a special thank you. They're friendly, professional, and fun. At Maison Voliere in La Souterraine, we had an amazing stay. The decor is stylish, the rooms are comfortable and have everything you need, and the food is fresh and delicious. We'd definitely recommend it!

Ian and Anthony were wonderful hosts, ready to help with anything. We had a huge, comfortable room in this historic building, and breakfast included fresh fruit from their own trees. The location is great too, just a short walk from the centre of La Souterraine.
