La Chartreuse de Dauzac

We were greeted with a lovely surprise at the entrance, Brazilian and Mexican flags for the countries where we were born and live. With only a few rooms, the stay felt nearly private, and the immaculately renovated chartreuse was beautiful. The bedroom and bathroom were outstanding, breakfast was perfect with lots prepared fresh to order, and we felt pampered throughout. We also got a complimentary winery tour and tasting, with excellent wines that made the experience even more memorable. Everything was amazing from the start.

Alexandra was quick to answer our questions and shared lots of restaurant suggestions. When our group of seven, booked into four rooms at LA Chartreuse de Dauzac, had to cut the stay short by a day, she promptly refunded us. We're very grateful. Breakfast was excellent, with a good range of hot and cold dishes. The room was spacious and clean, and the decor was tasteful. A definite five-star experience.

The hospitality at Dauzac was excellent. Alexandra and her team made us feel at home on the estate, as if we were the only guests, and went out of their way to make us welcome. We loved wandering through the fields to the river and the vineyards to Labarde, then spending quiet evenings with a bottle of wine and the sunset. The estate is beautiful, and a private dinner is an experience I'd say yes to without hesitation. We stayed in the boulangerie for three nights at the end of our Bordeaux trip, hoping to rest and explore the Medoc. Those became the most magical days of the trip, and we wished we could have stayed longer. Dauzac is also a great base for the Medoc wine villages and close to many good restaurants. We can't wait to return.

We spent four days here in June. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the property itself is beautiful, but Alexandra and her team really made the stay with their warm hospitality. They were attentive even outside official duty hours and went above and beyond. When the air conditioning stopped working, they quickly found a creative fix. Breakfast was delicious, the newly opened pool was fabulous, and the included wine tour was both fun and informative. My one suggestion would be to open the pool earlier, since a morning swim is such a refreshing way to start the day.
