We had such a relaxing three-night stay as a family of five. The house is beautifully decorated, and Sebastien made us feel right at home, always happy to help. We loved unwinding in the garden and using the pool, and breakfast outside on the patio each morning was lovely.

The main problem for us was the noise from heavy trucks, which started around 4 AM. Even with the windows facing the garden, we couldn't sleep. There's a large area at the far end of the garden with its own entrance where a motorcycle could be kept safely, but it wasn't offered to us, even after we asked. The hosts were very nice, and the old house has plenty of garden space. Dinner was simple and good, though a little more expensive than meals we'd had elsewhere. It's not a bad place, but next time we'll look for another option.

We were greeted warmly, and they spoke some English. The rooms were clean, quiet, and simply furnished. Breakfast was great, especially the homemade pancakes. There's free parking nearby, and dinner is available at the hotel or in town and the surrounding towns.

After hearing about this place from several friends, our group of seven stayed here while cycling the Passa Pais between Bédarieux and Mazamet. The hosts gave us a lovely welcome, and our bikes were kept safe. The rooms were clean and roomy. Meals were a real highlight: breakfast and dinner were homemade, beautifully presented, and generous. In October, we could also relax in the heated spa at 36°C after a day on the bikes. We all loved this beautiful building and would happily recommend it and come back. Thanks to our hosts!

Sharing dinner with nine other guests was one of the loveliest parts of our stay. Our French is limited, but the hosts made the table feel so welcoming that we could join right in. We won't forget that evening. The food was wonderful too, both breakfast and dinner: fresh ingredients, careful presentation, and Sébastien's excellent cooking, especially his take on local flavors and ingredient combinations. La Bastide du Thoré is a peaceful retreat in the Montagne Noire, surrounded by nature and beside a greenway for walking or cycling. The owners welcomed us so warmly that we felt at home straight away. They clearly put thought into making guests comfortable. It felt like a memorable experience, not just a place to sleep, and we'd gladly return and recommend it.
