Hôtel Restaurant Galland

The rooms have been renovated and are nice, and the hotel is right in the middle of Lapalisse. The owner is friendly and helpful, and breakfast is good. It’s the same every day, though, with not much to choose from.

Basic, but good value for the price. The owner and his wife were friendly, and breakfast was good in a nice restaurant room.

I came away extremely disappointed with Maison Galland. There was dust and dirt all over the room when I arrived, including cobwebs, dusty picture frames, dust under the bed and on the bedside lamp, and a dirty, broken toilet bowl. I reported it and sent photos, but felt they responded in bad faith, suggesting I was responsible for the dirt, including brown hairs in the sink drawer even though I’m blond. They made other accusations I found shocking and tried to portray me as manic-depressive. I was respectful and very understanding, but felt they took that for weakness. I was spoken to like dirt because the truth was inconvenient, and they weren’t accommodating at all. For the price, this was unacceptable. I’ve filed a complaint with the DGCCRF (French Directorate General for Competition Policy, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control). A very disappointing stay. I absolutely don’t recommend it. Avoid at all costs.

The owners were very kind and helpful, and we got a warm welcome. Our room was spacious and very comfortable, with comfortable beds. Breakfast was generous and had plenty of variety.
