A marvelous place to spend a weekend, with a great view over the wine estate and a relaxing pool. The comfort is basic, but the price is really good if you have enough people to rent one of the houses. It’s a great base for visiting the area.

They advertise wine tastings, but the place wasn’t open. When I spoke with the owner, I wasn’t given an explanation…

The room was impeccable, but breakfast was the one letdown. There were no pastries or orange juice, just grape juice from the estate instead. It was excellent if you like grape juice. I booked on Booking.com that morning, the 31st, for that evening, and finding the place after arriving at night was quite tricky. I had to use Google Maps to pinpoint it.

The scenery was magnificent, and the walks during my two weeks in this gîte were superb. There wasn’t much to do around the castle, at least in August, and shopping meant a 30-minute drive. Amenities were limited too. Pool access was only from 10 am to 6 pm, and we weren’t supposed to go over the allotted time. When I asked to stay longer, the request was refused. There’s a jacuzzi, though I didn’t see it.

I booked for tonight through Booking, but the woman running the hotel refused to let us stay because of our dog. Booking says dogs are allowed. It’s 6:40 pm and we don’t have a hotel.
