Dinner and breakfast were delicious, and there’s plenty to do, from the pool, gym, jacuzzi and table tennis to the outdoor play areas. The rooms are modern and clean, parking is easy, and you can join organized outings if you like. The setting in the heart of Vercors is lovely, with striking cliff views, especially at sunset, and WW2 monuments and museums nearby.

The apartments come with good equipment, and the staff are really friendly. It’s a great place for the price.

There are loads of hiking trails to explore in this beautiful region. Le Piroulet is in a peaceful spot on the edge of Vassieux, a small town with a lot of history. We found the rooms clean and decent, and the bedding was comfortable and very clean too. Everyone was welcoming, from the restaurant staff to reception, where Christine was especially friendly and accommodating. The young woman running the activities had loads of energy. Meals are served buffet-style, with an excellent range of dishes. I also appreciated the effort to reduce waste.

The village has an interesting history centered on the French Resistance, and we had a great time here with our group of 25 hikers. The center's hiking guides were excellent, and the picnic lunches were generous. The staff were attentive and friendly, the pool was pleasantly warm, and there was plenty of variety at the buffet. The meals were good.

It would be handy to have a shuttle to the ski resort, even if it costs extra. We also wished the parking lot had been salted and cleared after the snowfall. Apart from that, we really enjoyed our stay. The place is quiet and welcoming, and our room was exceptionally well soundproofed. The attentive staff were friendly from the start. Buffet meals were tasty and plentiful, and after skiing we appreciated the comfortably heated pool and the jacuzzi.
