Citotel Aero Hotel

The breakfast was wonderful, and we thought this was excellent value for our one-night stop near Charles De Gaulle airport. The room was clean, the decor pretty but understated, and the outside had a nice rustic look. The location worked well for us. The owner, Sophie? Sorry if I’ve got that wrong, and the staff were warm and accommodating. They offered friendly tips on restaurants and the Air Museum, and kept our luggage before our flight. We much prefer the home-like feel of a guest house to an anonymous chain hotel. If that’s what you want, this place fits.

The breakfast is worth having here. It’s a nice continental spread in a charming dining room, more inviting and interesting than most restaurants. There are also plenty of different kinds of restaurants within walking distance, which made it easy to find a casual lunch or dinner. Aéro Hotel is a pleasant place to stay. The hostess who greeted us was friendly and helpful, and spoke English. I’d happily return, and would rather support a good family business than the pricier generic chains nearby. The rooms are basic, but clean, quiet, secure, a decent size, and fairly priced. Wi-Fi, breakfast, and parking in the gated lot next door were included, which covered what I need for an overnight stay near the airport. The surrounding neighborhood seemed to have many immigrants. One caveat is the location. It’s in a residential area and can be tricky to find or reach. If the parking gate is shut or the lot is full, street parking might be hard to find. I’m giving it five stars as a two-star hotel, meaning good accommodation with a private bath, not as a five-star property by the usual classification. I’d probably take off half a star for the location if I could. I was here more than a year ago, and when someone asked me to recommend an airport hotel, I had to look up the details again and decided to leave a review.

Nice hotel, though I wasn’t impressed by the food. It seemed to come from the supermarket and was probably microwaved.

Good spot, and nice and quiet.
