The cabin sits in a lovely spot near several wineries and the village of Pouilly-sur-Loire, but our stay was disappointing. It was tucked into a corner of the owners' yard, and with no air conditioning there was no airflow. It really doesn't seem suited to hot weather. I also couldn't see any fire, smoke, or carbon monoxide alarms, which would be an inexpensive improvement. The listing on bookin.com seemed to differ from what we found: there was no washing machine or oven, and the checkout time and tennis courts also didn't match what was advertised. Madame greeted us by opening a window and telling us the cabin was open. The only other contact we had with her was a text on departure day saying we "must" leave at 10:00, though our reservation said 10:30. Monsieur was friendlier and more sociable when we saw him working around the property.

Breakfast arrived outside our door in a refrigerated picnic basket, so we took it to the picnic table and ate beside the sunlit vineyard. We had woken to sunshine streaming over the vines and into our bedroom, which was lovely. The lodge was comfortable and clean, and the owners were warm and friendly. We enjoyed stopping here while traveling down the N7 and would recommend it to anyone in the area.

The flowers, vineyards, and wheatfields around Armalou made it feel like heaven after I finished the language immersion school at Coeur de France in Sancerre. I kept up my immersion by trying out my beginner French with Marie, who was delightful. Marie felt like an angel.

Marie is fantastic, and Armalou is a lovely, quiet place to stay. The rooms and facilities are great.

We booked the room for four, and it was spacious and very clean, with a really comfortable bed. There were games and reading material, plus tea or coffee for the evening, so we had what we needed before turning in. Marie welcomed us to her bed and breakfast and took such good care of her guests. One useful detail for fellow bikers, there's a lockable garage where you can park motorcycles.
