Maison Pavlov

We’d definitely stay here again. The rooms are stylish and comfortable, and the staff were so friendly, welcoming and helpful. It’s a brilliant hotel in a lovely part of Bordeaux.

A quirky, beautiful hotel right in central Bdx. Bryan in the evening and Margot in the morning were both lovely and couldn’t have been more helpful. Thank you both.

The staff were friendly and understanding when we decided to leave after two nights, and they didn’t charge us for the third. That was one bright spot in a stay that fell well short of what I expected for the price. We’d booked a room with two beds, but one was a sofa made up as a bed, and it was very uncomfortable. The bathroom had only a small shower and toilet. Its fan came on only while showering, and with the door closed, the room developed an unpleasant smell. There was nowhere practical for toiletries, so shaving foam had to go on the floor. The sink was in the bedroom, which didn’t have proper space for toiletries either. The building is old and has no elevator, so getting up the steep stairs is necessary. On arrival, the first thing we noticed was garbage stored beneath the staircase. The place has charm and potential, but needs a complete renovation. The plastic windows and doors should be replaced to preserve its authenticity. Despite the friendly staff, the comfort and amenities weren’t what I’d expected, and I wouldn’t recommend staying until it gets a significant makeover.

We had a fantastic stay at maison Pavlov. The location, food, service and atmosphere were all top notch. Dinner was among the best meals we’ve ever had. Superb.
