Logis Hotel La Croix D'or

Pleasant enough, but much too expensive for a small town hotel without anything special to offer. Similar places in similar towns cost €20-30 less. I think the €38 menu should be around €25-30, and breakfast was worth no more than €10, with €8-9 feeling more appropriate. The hotel room itself was clean and good, and the staff were very helpful and friendly. There's a safe place to store bikes. But the outside looked a bit shabby, and our room faced the front terrace with its dirty roof. The toilet and shower are separate, but with no handbasin in the toilet, we had to walk around the bed to the shower area to wash our hands. The restaurant was okay. The food was nice, though there wasn't much atmosphere. The walls had no pictures, and the garden terrace looked drab, with a dirty concrete wall and a couple of sad-looking potted plants. Breakfast was served rather than laid out as a buffet, and was very poor value. We got only a mini croissant, not a full-size one, and had to choose between compote and yogurt instead of getting both. There was no cereal, crêpes, cakes, brioche, fruit, cheese, or ham, things I've always seen offered at buffet breakfasts that cost less.
