The daily towel changes and decent cleanliness were fair for the low price, though the hallways constantly smelled strongly of cleaning chemicals and/or poop. The room had almost nowhere to put luggage, so the three of us left our things on the floor. It also got hot very quickly, and with the window facing a huge highway intersection, opening it meant dealing with noise and pollution. Without the ventilation running at full blast all night, the room felt like it ran out of oxygen, but the fan was loud, and even with it or the “AC” on, we were sweating. The bathroom setup felt especially cheap. A shower curtain basically made up the bathroom, leaving no privacy, while the toilet was in a tiny half-square-meter room that felt like a vertical coffin. The bunk bed was a struggle to climb in and out of because it was close to the ceiling and had a strange ladder. I slept up there, and I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re over 25, tall, or have mobility issues. We were uneasy walking to the metro because the area didn’t look very safe. Most of the time it was fine, although we did see one creepy guy. If you’d rather spend a tight budget on food than accommodation while visiting Paris, this place does the job, but check other options too. Two years ago I stayed at the nearby B&B hotel for almost the same price, and the room was much bigger and more comfortable.

Breakfast was a highlight, with lots to choose from, including delicious croissants, and the Wi-Fi was good. I also appreciated the USB charging ports on the wall. For one person, the tidy room worked well, with a double bed and a bunk bed, and the view from the eighth floor was nice. Sheets and towels were changed daily and the room was made up each day. The hotel is around five minutes from the nearest bus stop and a ten-minute walk from the closest metro and tram. Amenities were sparse, just a shower gel dispenser in the bathtub. The bathroom was small, had glass doors around the tub and hot water right away, but no ventilation. That was fine for me since I was alone, though the bin had no lid. Good value for money, and I’d recommend it.

The staff were very kind and went out of their way to help, but the hotel interior needs work. It also takes about 50 minutes by metro to reach the city center. The lobby vending machine only takes coins, and breakfast was so limited that I ended up with just croissants and coffee. During breakfast I spotted a cockroach on the dishes, which was unpleasant. I’m also suspicious that someone may have gone into my room while I was out. My suitcase was locked, but it looked as though someone had tried to open it.

We stayed for two nights. At 2:30 a.m. on the second night, a stranger unlocked our room with a key and started to come in. I saw him slowly opening the door; my husband shouted, and the man ran off. We think he may have been there to steal, or worse, to kidnap our toddler. We felt this hotel was not safe, and I would not risk my family’s safety by staying there. We had to leave for the airport at 4:30 a.m. I didn’t report it at reception because the person had a key that opened the door, so I suspected an employee might have been involved. With my focus on getting my toddler safely out of there, confronting anyone at 4:30 a.m. didn’t seem wise. I’ve emailed customer service with the complaint.

The noisy area made it hard to sleep, and the room was cold. Breakfast was only mediocre, and there was no tea or hairdryer in the room. I left disappointed.
