B&B Hotel Le Mans Centre Cathédrale

The room was spotless, the bed really comfortable, and the price made sense for the quality. Breakfast was bland and there wasn’t much to choose from, and paying for parking is a pet hate of mine, though the website made that clear. Finding free parking nearby was hard. Still, the location is lovely, just a short walk from town, and I’d stay again. Those small annoyances were outweighed by the room and the price.

You can park on the street nearby if there’s a space, and the old town is very close. But the place feels really dated, maybe 10-20 years since its last refurbishment. The bedrooms are tired, and the bathrooms need work, with mould-stained ceilings and orange and black grout. Breakfast at €12 per person was very average. This is an old Ibis that’s been rebranded under the B&B name. There must be better places to stay.

We found plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance, along with the old city and historic cathedral. The hotel’s location is excellent, and there are both free and paid parking options nearby. Our room was a good size and the beds were comfortable. The staff were very friendly and did their best to speak with us in English.

We weren’t even guests, but the two women at the B&B Hotel reception on the evening of June 15, 2025 helped us when we were stuck outside. The apartment we’d booked just a few metres away had given us no access instructions, and we couldn’t reach anyone there. The reception staff were incredibly kind and helpful and went out of their way to sort things out. That kind of gesture says a lot about the hotel’s quality and value.
