Hotel Le Compostelle

Everything was exceptionally clean and clearly well maintained, even though the hotel feels a bit dated. The rooms are on the small side, but it didn't bother us. Service was genuinely warm and welcoming, and the location right in the heart of Le Marais was perfect, with buses and the metro easy to reach. A great base for exploring Paris. If you want somewhere central, clean, and friendly and aren't expecting luxury, it's a solid choice.

We had a room at the back, and it was very peaceful. The staff were friendly, and the hotel's location is very good. I hadn't noticed when booking that the hotel doesn't have air conditioning, though it does say so on the website, so that was my mistake. There was a small fan, but the room got very hot. We ended up finding another hotel after one night, even though we'd paid for three. The wifi was also very poor in our room. With the window open and my phone almost outside, I could get it, but most of the time it wasn't usable inside.

It's in a very convenient location, and the staff are friendly. The room was clean but tiny, basic, and tired. The noise complaints in the reviews are right: the walls between rooms are thin, and there was street noise from nearby bars.

The area is fantastic, and the staff are so friendly. They quickly remember which room you're in, and the place feels more like a little community than a hotel. I felt like I belonged, not like a visitor. The rooms are small, but after wandering Paris's streets for hours, that cozy feel was exactly what we needed. I'd absolutely return. If you're looking for a safe place to sleep without hassles or worries, stay here.
