The team made our weekend at Ibis Pontlieue, Le Mans. From arrival on, they were committed to looking after us and nothing felt like too much trouble. We ate at the hotel that evening and were glad we did. The atmosphere, food and service were all 5 star, with an attentive waiter and an excellent chef. It was quiet for a Saturday, but I'd recommend eating there. Breakfast was delicious, with lots of choice and plenty to eat. Our room and the hotel were spotless. We left the car in the hotel's free, secure parking and walked into Le Mans centre, about 50 minutes away. It made for a lovely, relaxing weekend. Le Mans is a beautiful city and well worth visiting, and the hotel is handy for A28 access. For an inexpensive mid-range hotel, this one's a winner.

For a quick, cheap stop, it did the job. The room was clean, practical and simply designed, and the staff were very helpful. The location loses a star because it's between major roads, with no pretty view, though that wasn't the main thing for this kind of stay.

The hotel is easy to reach by tram, and we had a peaceful, relaxing stay. Loved the goats! If you're too tired to go into Le Mans for dinner, the hotel's food is pretty decent. A safe in the room would have made our stay better.

There's secure parking available, and the dining facilities were reasonable. Getting to the hotel means dealing with the surrounding one-way system, so you'll definitely want satnav. The rooms have recently been refurbished, but the shower base was dangerously slippery and there were no rails or handles to hold on to. Maybe people sue less often for injuries in France than elsewhere.
