Maryse et Jean-Pierre

Fantastic and quiet place, with a clean room, though the bathroom might be tiny. The owners are beautiful and lovely, and breakfast was fantastic. A real country home and a positive experience.

We felt completely at home here, like visiting grandparents in the countryside. The hosts are kind and warm, and set a lovely example for the younger generation. The room has older furnishings, which suited the house's authentic character, and the view from the window was beautiful. Everything outside was quiet, green, and very clean. Breakfast was typically French, with fresh baguettes, croissants, and chocolate pastries. Jean-Pier served it with themed decorations and so much care. We also asked if they could warm up food we'd bought at the local market, and they laid a place for us without any fuss. Thank you, we really enjoyed our stay. ❤️

The room was large, in a beautiful old farmhouse, and we had excellent parking. The host couple were very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was generous, with pain au chocolat, croissants, baguette, and jam, plus coffee or tea. The bathroom was very cramped and had no shelves or hooks. There was no soap, toothbrush holder, or hairdryer either. It's quite remote, so you need a car for restaurants, a supermarket, and other places. There's no bike path to the next town.

The only small drawback was an occasional musty smell, so maybe an air freshener would help. Otherwise, the generous breakfast and the lovely garden and surroundings made for a really nice stay. We could even see Bayeux Cathedral in the distance. Our hosts, Maryse and Jean-Pierre, were so welcoming and endearing, and went out of their way to make us feel at home in their beautiful house. The rooms aren't modern, but they're charming and practical. Port-en-Bessin is close by for a meal, just as JP recommended. We'd happily recommend staying here.
