Le Mas Saint Jacques

The breakfast on the sunny terrace was the highlight: homemade marmalades, crunchy baguettes, chocolate breads, croissants, fresh fruit, and delicious coffee and tea. Jean-Marc was attentive and made us feel at home. The lovingly renovated old farmhouse had two spacious, comfortable suites that were very clean and thoughtfully equipped. The pool was beautiful, and towels were provided. Jean-Marc also welcomed us warmly, showed us around and shared some of the house’s history. He helped find and reserve a great nearby restaurant, sort out parking in Avignon for the next day, and even took care of our laundry. Le Mas de Saint Jacques is a perfect getaway near Avignon, just outside the city in lovely, quiet countryside. On arrival, we saw a beautiful iron gate and an avenue of ancient trees leading to the cozy B&B. Absolutely wonderful, 1000% recommendable! If you visit Le Mas Saint Jacques, you’ll definitely want to stay longer and come back to see Jean-Marc and his lovely dog Molly.

The best part was definitely Jean Marc, a wonderful host who puts his heart into the place, and the amazing breakfast. The house feels like something from an old French movie, and its location is great for exploring the area by car. It really is the perfect spot for a dreamy getaway. We miss it already and can’t wait to come back. A big plus, it’s truly dog friendly 🐶❤️

A quiet countryside B&B with comfortable beds, a pool, family rooms and a great breakfast served on the porch. The rooms are quiet too, thanks to the old building’s thick walls. It’s the hosts who make it special compared with a hotel, along with the quality for the price. Thank you, Jean Marc, for everything you did for our family during those days!

Jean-Marc was a wonderful host, opening his lovingly restored home to guests and helping us plan our many outings around the area. We had lovely meals at nice restaurants with his help, but also often brought food back and enjoyed dinner at the Mas, where we came to love the excellent wine selection. The rooms were spacious, nicely decorated with antique furniture, very clean and quiet. The house is just a few minutes by car from Avignon city centre, and well placed for Roman antiquities, Romanesque churches and abbeys, perched mountain villages, beautiful nature and much more. We spent 10 days at Mas saint Jacques and enjoyed them enormously. Jean-Marc and Molly the dog gave us a warm welcome and made us feel at home throughout. Breakfast was delicious, with fresh baguette, croissants, homemade jam and excellent coffee, sometimes one cup, sometimes two. Depending on the weather, it was served indoors or out. We wholeheartedly recommend Mas saint Jacques and look forward to visiting again.
