The shop and bar were great, and being able to order bread and pastries by 7 pm for the next morning was handy, especially with the bakery up the hill in Clecy. There’s plenty for children and families to do at the site and in the village, and the campsite is in a good spot for activities nearby. Our riverside pitch was shady under a big tree, though the pitches overall are close together. Staff dealt quickly with the noisy camper we reported. Communication before arrival was a problem: our ferry was delayed, so I emailed and called several times with an estimated arrival after 10 pm, but got no answer. We ended up making up time and arrived just before 10, but I’m not sure what would have happened otherwise. The facilities were fine, though nothing special. The lack of proper liquid soap in the toilets felt like a health concern. They do tell you beforehand, but you need to bring your own toilet paper for both toilet blocks. Friday and Saturday nights were noisy, with music continuing past 11 pm both times. The band was good, but that wasn’t what I wanted from a campsite, and it was disappointing if you were hoping for a quiet night.

The campsite sits in lovely countryside and we enjoyed the setting. Getting there in our motorhome was a nightmare, though. I also find French roads very narrow and poorly maintained.

The site is in a great spot, with walking routes and the cycle path right outside the entrance. We were welcomed warmly, and the bar food was good. Facilities were clean and tidy. It was busy when we arrived over the Bank Holiday weekend, but it soon quietened down during our two-night stay.

Everything we needed was there, and the facilities were kept tidy and clean. We were lucky to find a pitch when we arrived. Frederic and his young assistant were professional and did a lot to help us. When we reported a noisy camper, management responded quickly. We’d stay here again.
