That welcome cider was a fun discovery: it introduced us to Kir Normand, a lovely aperitif, and we were lucky to have perfect weather too. Chris had sent a link packed with useful information before we arrived, so we had plenty of ideas ready and could make the most of each day. Maison Ella is comfortable, well equipped, and everything worked as it should. It’s also a handy base for seeing much of the Cotentin peninsula, with Mont St Michel an obvious day trip. We had a wonderful holiday there with friends.

Chris was so helpful when we arrived on a French bank holiday, kindly offering to pick up a couple of basic food items for us. She’s welcoming and knows the area well if you need advice. The shops in Gavaray are nearby, and the cakes alone make them worth a visit. We both had a great four-night stay at Gite Ella while exploring Normandy and the surrounding area. The Christian Dior museum nearby was excellent. Back at the gite, everything was lovely and clean, with hot showers, comfortable beds, and all the equipment we needed for a good sleep after a day out. We’d definitely stay again if we planned another visit to the area.

The garden was a lovely bonus, with room for children to run about, and there are some amazing beaches just 15-20 minutes away. It’s a very convenient spot for local activities and Normandy’s sights. The gite is comfortable and has everything you need. Chris was friendly and helpful, while giving us space and only stepping in when we needed something. We’d recommend staying here and hope to come back sometime.

Chris, the owner, was fantastic with suggestions for places to visit and restaurants. We had such a lovely holiday at Maison Ella, exploring the area from a great base, about an hour from Mont Saint Michel and the landing beaches. The gite is spacious, modern, and extremely well equipped. It really felt like a home from home, and I’d recommend it to anyone staying in Normandy.

Chris was a great person to have on site, especially for tips on local places and sights. We managed easy day trips to Granville, Caen, Honfleur, Le Havre, Bayeaux, the British and U.S. War Memorials, Mont-Saint-Michel, and Saint-Malo. The wifi was fast and worked flawlessly. The house itself was quiet and very comfortable, with large rooms that felt familiar to us as Americans used to more space than is typical in Europe. I loved the well kept flowers in the beautiful back garden, along with the comfortable outdoor furniture just behind the living room. The kitchen was spacious and easy to move around in, and the field of cows out front completed the picture.
